
Primary
The students in Primary attend school Monday-Friday.
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students’ schedule will be from 8:00 – 1:45.
- 5th and 6th grade students’ schedule will be from 8:00 – 2:00 p.m.
2nd – 6th grade:
- Our students will be two days a week with the Spanish teacher, and two days a week with the English teacher.
- One day a week will be Safari Day, and our students will have their special classes on this day.
1st grade:
- Our first grade students will alternate between one week with two days with the Spanish teacher and three days with the English teacher and one week with three days with the Spanish teacher and two days with the English teacher.
- They will have their special classes every day at 11:05.
Health and hygiene
- All classroom furniture has been organized in keeping with health and physical distancing measures.
- We teach and reinforce correct handwashing techniques and provide students with frequent opportunities to wash their hands.
- Each classroom have a hand sanitizer dispenser and said dispensers can be found throughout the Primary campus.
- Signage and staff remind students of the procedures that must be implemented when one finds themselves in common areas, such as bathrooms and hallways.
- In addition to the restroom sinks, students will be able to use portable ones that are located in different parts of the building.
- The use of face masks is optional in open spaces.
Academics
- Our 100% Face to Face model includes core curriculum classes, Physical Education, specialist classes and “Learning to Be” sessions.
- All Media Center activities will be carried out face to face.
- The maximum number of people allowed in the Media Center will be 15: five in the main area, five in the reading area, and five in the multimedia area.
- The typing classes will continue to be virtual.
- Counselors will meet with students in open spaces and abide by physical distancing measures.
- Students must wear mouth covers at all times. Outdoor activities will be a priority and all Physical Education classes will be given outside.
- The flag ceremony will continue to be carried out virtually.
- Parent-teacher meetings will continue online.

The Primary school day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 1:45 p.m.
Pick up times will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
The Face to Face model introduces physical distancing and density reduction as key strategies to further reduce exposure within our community, while at the same time providing face-to-face interaction between students and teachers.

Campus access
- Vehicles will enter via door 1 of the Las Ánimas parking lot. Students will get out of their cars, abide by School staff’s instructions, and access the campus via the middle door or the access point located next to the PESA Uniform store.
- The bay off the 31 Poniente will also be available.
- Before entering campus, students will be subject to temperature screenings, and will wash their hands before entering their classrooms.
- The Las Ánimas parking lot and bay off the 31 Poniente will be open as of 7:30 a.m.
- The bay off the 31 Poniente is exclusively for Primary students, meaning that Preschool and Junior High students cannot use said area. Primary students can also enter via the Las Ánimas parking lot.
- Only students, not parents, are allowed to get out of their vehicles.
- Classes start at 8:00 a.m.
Student responsibilities
- Students can enter campus between 7:30 a.m. and 7:55 a.m.
- Students will enter campus unattended. Primary and School security staff will be on to provide any necessary assistance.
- Students are expected to wear face masks in closed spaces. The use of face masks is optional in open spaces.
- Students are expected to wash their hands frequently.
- Students and parents are expected to abide by these preventative measures given that they are aimed at safeguarding the health and safety of all community members.
Parent responsibilities
- Parents are expected to check for signs or symptoms of respiratory illness (fever of 37.5ºC or higher, runny nose, sore throat, cough, respiratory difficulty, headache, muscle ache, congested nose, loss of smell or appetite, diarrhea, nausea) every day before leaving home.
- Parents are expected to remain in their vehicles at all times.
- Parents are expected to talk about the importance of punctuality with family members. Doing so will encourage students to be on time and allow them to begin the day in a stress-free manner.
- Parent-teacher communication will be via email, message notebook, Google Classroom, and Meet sessions.
School day logistics
- Students are expected to wash their hands and put on their face masks upon entering the classroom.
- Computer classes will be carried out in the laboratories and specialist classes will be held in their corresponding classrooms. Students are expected to abide by physical distancing measures and all equipment and materials will be cleaned and disinfected at the end of each class.
- All Media Center activities will be carried out face to face.
- Lunch time: Students are expected to bring prepared meals from home as well as enough water to last for the entire school day given that water coolers will not be available. Students are not allowed to share their meals and will eat outside, weather permitting.
Recess
- The Physical Education teachers will take students outside for recess.
- Students will participate in hands-on learning activities that will be found along one side of the courts and main patio area.
- Once recess is over, the teachers will take students back to their classrooms, where they will wash their hands before entering said spaces.
Physical Education
- The Physical Education teachers will take students to their designated area.
- The use of face masks is optional in open spaces.
- Physical distancing measures will be respected during any type of group activity.
- Once class is over, the teachers will take students back to their classrooms, where they will wash their hands before entering said spaces.
- Material or equipment used during class time will be cleaned and disinfected at the end of each session.
Common Areas
- Students will abide by the protocols regarding restrooms and respect the 3-student at one time limit.
- Health Center: Said space will be disinfected on a continuous basis. In order to abide by health and physical distancing measures, a limited number of people can be in the Health Center at one time: a doctor, a nurse, 2 people maximum in the consultation area, and two people in the bed area (for a total of six people).
Student pick up
End of day is at 1:45 p.m.
Parents can pick up their children from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the following areas:
- Las Ánimas parking lot
- Bay off the 31 Poniente
- Those parents who do not pick up their children between 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. will do so in the area off to the side of the parking lot (Huskyteria).
- Please do not arrive before the indicated time. Parents who arrive too early and wait, cause more traffic problems around our school.
Prevention measures during the school day
Use of materials
- Books, notebooks, and materials: Teachers will inform students of which books, notebooks, and materials should be brought to school and which should remain at home.
- Students cannot bring any toys from home.
iPads/Chromebooks
- These devices are not to be shared.
- They will be cleaned before and after use.
- Students will wash their hands before and after using said devices.
Other materials
- Whiteboards and whiteboard markers will be cleaned after use.
- Art supplies will be cleaned after use and stored.
Classroom library
- The Follett Destiny platform is available to all community members (students, teachers and parents). An extensive collection of books and videos can be found on said platform.
- A virtual classroom library will be available for each grade year.
- Teachers have a book selection in the classroom. Students can store books and said material will be stored and then cleaned once students are done using/reading them.
- Students can take out books from the Media Center at any time.
